Stay tuned! Cecilia Edwards and Merrily Calhoun have graciously agreed to chair the St. Mark's Gala in 2018. The committee is hard at work planning and will release details to our community as soon as possible.

Frequently Asked Questions

Where does the money go?

Proceeds from the St. Mark’s Gala benefit special projects around campus. Funds from previous events have been earmarked for things like supplementing the Green for Green campaign for new turf, facility upgrades, keeping our campus secure, professional development, and our ongoing commitment to improving technology.

How will the auction work?

We will open our auction for bidding the week of the event. All parents can bid online, whether they attend or not. You must be present to bid on live auction items.

The BidPal system will text you when you have been outbid if you allow that feature. The auction will end at 10:00 PM that evening, and checkout is easy with Bidpal. You can email yourself a receipt through the app after the event has concluded. Since our event will be over at that time, item pick-up will be available beginning on Monday, April 24!

How can I help?

We need lots of volunteers before, during, and after the event. If you are interested in helping with something specific, or want to get involved email Kristin Horn!

When and where is the Gala?

The gala is scheduled for Saturday, April 22, 2017 at St. Mark's from 6:30 - 8:30 PM.

What should I wear?

Big hats and bow ties are optional for this year's Derby-themed soiree. The UnGala year offers parents the flexibility to go all out or come as they are.

If I can't attend the Gala, can I still bid online?

Yes! You will receive a link to register on BidPal a week before the event. Bidpal is our online mobile bidding software. You can enter your payment information and bid from your mobile phone, tablet, or computer. You must be present to bid on live auction items.

What if I want to donate an auction item?

We would love to work with you! We have an in-kind agreement form that you can fill out with your information. We can offer auction donors visibility on our online auction as well as in our printed materials. Thank you for considering this important part of our event.

What is a wine pull?

Parents and friends have donated bottles to our event that are all worth $30 or more. These bottles are catalogued and numbered for our event. Participants in this pull will make a suggested donation of $30 and pull a bottle randomly from our display. Lucky winners in this event may walk away with fabulous bottles worth much more than $30 from the private cellars of our families.

This year, we have a lot of fun events supporting the Wine Pull!

Wine Pull Wednesdays: On Wednesdays, the UnGala Chairs will be accepting wine donations in the morning carpool line. Drop off your $30 minimum bottle as you swing through carpool!

Wine Pull Play Date: Your UnGala Chairs are hosting a play date at the brand new Levy Park, located at 3801 Eastside St, Houston, TX 77098 on Saturday, March 25, from 8:30 AM to 10:30 AM. We will provide donuts, coffee, and milk for all who attend. Come enjoy one of Houston's newest parks and bring a bottle of wine valued at $30 or more to support St. Mark's!
