Garhett Wagers, a passionate and engaging school leader, has more than 20 years in education, where he has worked in both traditional as well as non-traditional school settings. He believes strongly in the importance of a whole child education. Garhett believes the teacher is charged with meeting learners where they are, understanding who they are, and crafting an atmosphere that challenges students to be better versions of themselves. It is this evolving discovery of self that causes 18 months through 8th grade schools to stand out. It is no coincidence that Garhett has spent so much of his career in Episcopal schools, where stewarding these values is at the core of culture.
Prior to joining St. Mark's as our Head of School in 2010, Garhett served as the Assistant to the Head for Institutional Advancement and the Head of the Intermediate Division at St. Mary's Episcopal Day School in Tampa, Florida. He was in the 2015 Cohort in the Heads Fellowship Program at Teachers College of Columbia University, and currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Southwestern Association of Episcopal Schools.

Board of Trustees
The Board of Trustees of St. Mark’s is a dynamic group of individuals that focuses on the long-term strategic goals and financial position of the school and the selection and support of its Head of School.
Made up of current and former parents, grandparents, alumni, and community leaders, the Board’s primary goal is to support and protect the mission of the school. The Board entrusts the normal, day-to-day operations of the school to their sole employee, the Head of School, and instead focuses its efforts on policy, managing the relationship between St. Mark’s Episcopal Church and St. Mark’s Episcopal School, and overseeing the financial operations of the school.
