Middle School Athletics
Students who participate in sports have an opportunity to build sportsmanship while developing a positive work ethic, leadership, self-discipline, and team fellowship.
St. Mark’s employs a no-cut policy for its students so that every student has an opportunity to be a part of an athletic team. A no-cut policy means that the number of athletes will change from season to season and year to year based on interest, class size and gender. Evaluations are held to determine team placement.
Multiple sports are offered in the fall and spring, and students who have an interest may participate in more than one. The sports have different time commitments, and, while the seasons are staggered, they also overlap. The policy for managing a student’s participation in multiple sports for the fall and spring can be found in the Athletics Policy of the Family Handbook.
