Gala

The 2017 UnGala

An Annual Fundraising Tradition

The annual spring gala to support St. Mark’s Episcopal School is a time-honored tradition. We rely on community partners to help us advance our mission and provide the best educational environment for our children.

The generous gift of our leadership team, underwriters, sponsors, and donors strengthen our ability to advance our mission while reducing our annual operating costs.

In even years we hold a Gala, an evening event with a seated dinner and a band. In odd years, we hold the more casual UnGala, which takes place here on campus with hors d’ oeuvres and a full bar. Proceeds from the St. Mark’s Gala or UnGala benefit special projects around campus. Funds from previous events have been earmarked for things like facility upgrades, keeping our campus secure, professional development, and our ongoing commitment to improving technology.

Gala Frequently Asked Questions

Where does the money go?

Proceeds from the St. Mark’s Gala benefit special projects around campus. Funds from previous events have been earmarked for things like supplementing the Green for Green campaign for new turf, facility upgrades, keeping our campus secure, professional development, and our ongoing commitment to improving technology.

How will the auction work?

We will open our auction for bidding the week of the event. All parents can bid online, whether they attend or not. You must be present to bid on live auction items.

The BidPal system will text you when you have been outbid if you allow that feature. The auction will end at 10:00 PM that evening, and checkout is easy with Bidpal. You can email yourself a receipt through the app after the event has concluded.

How can I help?

We need lots of volunteers before, during, and after the event. If you are interested in helping with something specific, or want to get involved email our Gala chairs!

There are many ways that you can help:

  • Volunteer in a leadership position
  • Consider the underwriting levels
  • Sponsorship opportunities (bar or tickets for teachers)
  • Financially contribute towards the Fund In Need

When and where is the gala?

The gala is scheduled for Saturday, April 13, at St. Mark's Episcopal School, starting at 7:00 PM.

What should I wear?

Dress code: Totally Tubular 80s Attire!

If I can't attend the Gala, can I still bid online?

Yes! Our auction is hosted online through BidPal, and the auction opens one week before the event. Bidpal is our online mobile bidding software. You can enter your payment information and bid from your mobile phone, tablet, or computer. You must be present to bid on live auction items.

How can I donate an auction item?

We would love to work with you! We have an in-kind agreement form that you can fill out with your information. We can offer auction donors visibility on our online auction as well as in our printed materials. Thank you for considering this important part of our event.
