St. Mark's Heritage Festival
Learning about each other, from each other!
The purpose of the Heritage Festival is to nurture attitudes towards others that recognize the differences and celebrate the similarities of all people. It is our hope that by learning about each other we create a positive environment of understanding and mutual respect in which our children grow and learn to be good citizens of the world. Our community at St. Mark's is diverse, with over 35 countries represented. The Heritage Festival allows us to celebrate our different cultures.
2018 Heritage Festival
The seventh annual St. Mark’s Heritage Festival will be held Monday, February 5, through Friday, Frebruary 9. Over the years, our Heritage Festival has evolved and grown, and last year, we adopted a school-wide plan for grade-level lessons. It is our hope that as students grow up at St. Mark’s, each year they learn something new about themselves and their classmates.
Additionally, our fine arts classes during Heritage Festival will focus on music, dance, and art from many different cultures. One of our greatest resources for authentic music and dance is our diverse community! It is our hope that by learning about each other we create a positive environment of understanding and mutual respect in which our children grow and learn to be good citizens of the world.
This year, we are excited to bring back the parade of flags. Please fill out the form below if your child is interested in representing your family's country.
