Welcome to Food for Thought! We are excited to share dining program news. Here you will find information about the lunch menu, special dining programs and events, taste tests, and featured fruits for the month ahead.

Ho! Ho! Ho!  December is an exciting month for our Food Service Program.  Our theme this month is “Flik’s Favorite Holiday Flavors,” and we’ll feature tried and true Flik recipes for holiday meals, including the following favorites:

  • Wednesday, December 1 - Honey Glazed Carrots
  • Tuesday, December 7 - Garlic Mashed Potatoes
  • Wednesday, December 15 - Pineapple Baked Ham and Pecan Pie (with an alternative for nut allergies)

The Pumpkin Carving Contest was so popular during October, we’re going to host a Gingerbread House contest during December.  Students will see (and give creative direction to!) our contestants decorating their Gingerbread Houses during lunch on these days:

  • Thursday, December 9 - Mrs. Dods
  • Friday, December 10 - Ms. Dillon 
  • Monday, December 13 - Mrs. Williams
  • Tuesday, December 14 - Ms. Banks, our Pumpkin Carving Champion

Menus and Updates

Lunch menus are available via the Flik App or online. Selections for our Primary School students can be found in the Portal.

We’ll also be offering students a Hot Cocoa Bar instead of chocolate milk on Friday, December 3rd and Friday, December 10th in the Cafeteria for 1st through 8th Grade.   Our Preschool 3s, Pre-K and Kindergarten will get a chocolate milk treat on those Fridays! 

Flik is proud to provide sweet treats for our upcoming Christmas Class Celebrations. Room Parents will be placing those orders for their class / grade level.

December's Tasty Tuesday: Tuesday, December 14

Have you heard about #TastyTuesdays? Each month, Chef Sergio shares a tasting experience for our students in Preschool 2s through 8th grade. By giving kids a small taste of a new flavor in their classrooms, we hope to encourage our kids to expand their palette, try something new, and learn more about nutrition. This month, students will first be tasting Honey Cinnamon Cranberry Roasted Butternut Squash. Follow along on our Instagram and Facebook for images of our #tastytuesdays!
