Summer at St. Mark's
Summer at St. Mark's exists to give children the opportunity to learn and grow during the summer months. Through week-long camps, children are able to try something new or work to fine tune a current skill or interest they have.
Summer at St. Mark’s is open to not only St. Mark’s students, but also children who are not current students. By opening our summer camps to the surrounding area, we give our students the opportunity to make new friends during the summer in the comfort and convenience of their school community.
Through Summer at St. Mark’s, we strive to meet the same standards of our academic programs. Whether our own teachers or an outside vendor are creating and leading summer camps, it is important to us that the camp is mission-appropriate and child-centered.
We offer a variety of different camp sessions each summer, including academic programs like Spanish and science. We partner Rice University to offer the Writers in the School’s Creative Writing Camp and the Rice School Mathematics Project. We also offer athletic camps, such as basketball, tae kwon do, and dance. Other options offered on our campus include music, art, theater, and cooking. These camps are developed for students ranging in age from rising Pre-K to rising 8th grade.
The increased offerings are great! My kids like that it is in a familiar environment with kids they know from during the school year. Based on clubs during school year, my kids may be interested in cooking, sewing, chess club, basketball, and art-related camps.
