Arts
Our fine arts curriculum offers art classes that include art history, mixed media, and art technique, and music classes feature singing, performing, and learning to play musical instruments.
Visual Arts
Zero Hour
During Zero Hour, our art teacher opens her studio to our artists looking for a time and place to focus on their next masterpiece. Open Studio gives students access to art supplies and time to develop their skills through independent study. Drop-ins, short term visits, or daily attendance are welcome!
Middle School Electives
Our students can explore more visual arts in our middle school electives like art journaling and ceramics (for 8th graders), and express themselves creatively through making artwork. These offerings change each trimester.
Clubs
Our clubs offered in the fall and the spring through extended care give students additional opportunities to be creative, learn arts skills, and even learn art making software such as Procreate. These offerings change year to year.
Music
The St. Mark's Singers
Our 3rd and 4th graders can join the St. Mark's Singers to develop their vocal skills in choir practice after school, perform at school events, and attend field trips to sing for local organizations.
Middle School Choir
Middle school choir is all about building on group singing skills and working towards learning more advanced music. Our middle school singers also perform at school events and go on field trips to sing for local organizations, sometimes collaborating with our lower school choir, the St. Mark's Singers.
Performing Arts
Dance
Our up and coming dancers can refine their skills, build foundational skills, and practice performing in front of audiences. We offer a spirit dance team club after school as well as dance electives for our middle school students.
Musical Theater
St. Mark's produces two musicals a year. Interested performers must audition and cast members are required to attend rehearsals during Zero Hour. We also offer other performing arts Zero Hour courses, as well as a technical theater elective for 8th graders.
