Athletics

Our athletics program encourages playfulness, growth, resilience, and collaboration.

We believe in the total development of our students by supporting and promoting physical growth and development through participating in multiple sports. The ultimate goal of our athletics program is to provide students with the skills necessary to live healthy, active lifestyles. To see our full athletics calendar, click here.

Lower School Sports

By getting involved in lower school athletics, St. Mark’s students in 1st through 4th grades have a great opportunity to develop sports skills, exercise, have fun, practice good sportsmanship, foster school and church spirit, and prepare for middle school sports. Through the United Church Athletic League (UCAL), 2nd through 4th grade students can participate in basketball, and 1st through 4th graders can participate in soccer. St. Mark's also offers a cross country team for 3rd and 4th graders, a touch football team for 3rd and 4th graders, a developmental tennis program for 1st through 5th graders, and a bounce ball team for 1st through 4th graders.

Middle School Sports

Students who participate in sports have an opportunity to build sportsmanship while developing a positive work ethic, leadership, self-discipline, and team fellowship.

St. Mark’s employs a no-cut policy for its students so that every student has an opportunity to be a part of an athletic team. A no-cut policy means that the number of athletes will change from season to season and year to year based on interest, class size, and gender. Evaluations are held to determine team placement.

Multiple sports are offered, and students who have an interest may participate in more than one. The sports have different time commitments, and, while the seasons are staggered, they also overlap. We also offer strength and conditioning, which meets for practice twice a week and is offered every trimester.
